Air freight continues to strengthen its position as a key element of international supply chains. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), global air cargo demand rose by 4.4 percent year-on-year in August 2026, measured in cargo tonne-kilometers. That momentum is now reflected in air cargo growth at Europe, the air freight event integrated into Transport Logistic 2027, which takes place April 26-29, 2027, at the Messe Munchen exhibition center.

Billed by its organizers as the world's leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management, Transport Logistic brings together the full spectrum of the industry. It covers freight transport by road, rail, sea, and air, as well as IT, telematics, and intralogistics.

Air Cargo Europe focuses on air cargo and its interaction with other areas of logistics. In 2027, for the first time, two halls covering around 22,000 square meters will be dedicated entirely to air cargo Europe. This represents growth of about 7 percent and positions the event within the broader logistics sector. In this environment, airlines, airports, and air freight service providers meet shippers and companies from other transport sectors.

For freight forwarders, this format brings air freight partners, cargo owners, and multimodal providers together on one show floor. This supports the cross-sector exchange needed to optimize routing, strengthen carrier relationships, and secure new client business.

Air Cargo Europe is also recording an increase in exhibitors, particularly from China. Further bookings, along with announcements from companies represented at joint stands, are expected in the coming months.

"We are pleased with the extremely positive interim figures. Confirmations from leading industry players underscore Air Cargo Europe's importance. As part of transport logistics, it offers the air freight industry the ideal setting to develop business contacts and engage with partners along the supply chain," says Dr. Robert Schonberger, Global Industry Lead, Transport Logistic Exhibitions.
