On June 8, the Ro-Ro passenger ferry Andros King collided with a concrete pier as it entered the port of Rafina. The impact caused severe damage to the pier, which fractured into two sections, while the ferry itself remained essentially undamaged. None of the passengers or crew on board were injured.

At the time of the incident, the Andros King was arriving at Rafina from Mykonos. The vessel was carrying approximately 280 passengers and 60 crew members, along with multiple cars and trucks. Northerly winds in the port area were around Force 5.

As a Ro-Ro passenger ferry, the vessel needed to turn around inside the concrete breakwater upon arrival at Rafina to conduct loading and unloading operations using its stern ramp. According to initial assessments, the bow of the Andros King struck the concrete pier while performing this turning manoeuvre. Photographs from the scene show the impact caused a visible displacement of part of the pier structure, with a section splitting into two separate pieces.

No passengers or crew were injured in the incident. The ferry itself sustained only minor paint scratches on its bulbous bow, with no structural damage whatsoever. The Hellenic maritime authorities confirmed that the Andros King was in sound seaworthy condition and granted approval for the vessel to continue its scheduled operations. The ferry departed at approximately 7:50 a.m. the following morning to undertake its next commercial voyage.
