Panamanian officials have searched offices linked to the Panama Ports Company, the local unit of Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison, reports Reuters.

A judicial official confirmed on local television that a search had taken place but did not identify the business or specify what materials were seized. CK Hutchison and Panamanian authorities did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Panama's Supreme Court recently ruled CK Hutchison's contracts to operate terminals at the entrance to the Panama Canal unconstitutional. The government subsequently annulled the deals, triggering the latest enforcement actions.
