Taiwan's logistics industry expects strong growth in 2026, supported by AI-driven air freight and stable dry bulk shipping, reports Taipei's Taiwan News.

Freight forwarder Dimerco said 2025 air and sea freight volumes rose about 20 per cent year on year, with consolidated revenue reaching NT$29.3 billion (US$925.65 million), up 4.8 per cent. Transpacific shipments of high-value goods such as AI server components drove air freight growth, with rates on key Asian routes hitting historic highs.

Dimerco chairwoman Chien Wen-chun said AI-related cargo will continue to support air freight to North America and Europe, even as ocean shipping faces capacity mismatches. Integrated logistics company Chien Shing reported record 2025 revenue of NT$3.24 billion, up 12 per cent, with coal storage and automated unloading systems at Taichung and Kaohsiung ports remaining central to operations.

Chien Shing said non-coal activities are expanding, including natural gas pipeline handling and warehousing for AI and wind power projects. The company plans further investment in automation and warehouse capacity to strengthen long-term growth.

Dry bulk carrier Wisdom Marine reported NT$16.89 billion in 2025 revenue, with preliminary pre-tax EPS of NT$5.3. The firm said US tariffs slowed first-half momentum, but easing China-US relations in the second half lifted freight indices. Wisdom Marine sold 10 older vessels last year for NT$1.33 billion and will add eight energy-efficient handy-size ships in 2026.
