Munich Airport reported a rise in cargo throughput in 2025, with volumes surpassing pre-coronavirus levels, reports Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.

Preliminary traffic results showed total cargo volumes reached 341,000 tonnes in 2025, up 9.5 per cent from 311,091 tonnes in 2024.

Air freight accounted for 340,000 tonnes of the total, representing a 10.4 per cent increase compared with 307,635 tonnes in 2024. The figures highlight a sustained rebound in demand through the airport.

The airport said overall cargo throughput in 2025 was already above pre-crisis levels, exceeding the benchmark by about two per cent.

Cargo continues to contribute to Munich Airport's operational performance, alongside steady growth in overall traffic. Freight volumes remain a key indicator of the hub's role in European and intercontinental logistics networks.
