China has announced it will reduce import duties on a range of products from next year, including resource-based commodities and medical supplies, reported Reuters.

The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced that tariffs will be lowered on items such as recycled black powder used in lithium-ion batteries. Medical products including artificial blood vessels and diagnostic kits for infectious diseases will also face reduced levies.

Authorities said provisional import tariff rates for 935 products will be set below the most-favoured-nation levels applied to all World Trade Organization members. The move is aimed at improving access to key resources and medical goods while aligning with international trade commitments.
