Japanese-owned but Singapore based Ocean Network Express (ONE) has signed an agreement to acquire a minority stake in Dalian Container Terminal, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
Dalian Container Terminal is located in the largest foreign trade hub in northeast China and is among the biggest dedicated container facilities in the region. It has an annual capacity of 6.6 million TEU, with 14 berths along 4,390 metres of quay, equipped to handle large vessels.
Hiroki Tsujii, chief officer of ONE's product and network division, said the investment supports the company's strategy of securing access at key regional ports.
Mr Tsujii added that the stake will enable collaboration with DCT on infrastructure development and green terminal initiatives, reinforcing Dalian's role as a gateway for international trade in northeast China.
