AD Ports Group reported record profit of AED584 million (US$569 million) in 2025, up 19 per cent on-year as expansion lifted volumes and revenues, reports UK's Seatrade Maritime News.

The group said its customer base grew 20 per cent, with spending by its top 10 clients up 40 per cent. Container throughput rose 23 per cent to 7.7 million TEU, offsetting a 29 per cent fall in ro-ro volumes to one million units and a 10 per cent decline in cruise passengers to 474,000.

Ports revenue climbed 21 per cent to AED2.86 billion, driven by a 59 per cent rise in container revenues, a 33 per cent increase in bulk and general cargo, and contributions from CMA Terminals Khalifa Port. Khalifa Port accounted for 9.6 million TEU of the group's 12.1 million TEU global capacity.

The Maritime and Shipping cluster led with AED10.7 billion revenue, up 33 per cent, and now represents 51 per cent of group turnover. Feeder shipping volumes rose 38 per cent to 3.35 million, though average rates fell seven per cent. The marine services fleet expanded to 81 vessels, while the multipurpose and ro-ro fleet grew to 60 ships.

Economic Cities and Free Zones revenue rose 45 per cent to AED2.9 billion, supported by warehouse sales. Logistics was the only segment to decline, with revenue down 6 per cent to AED4.4 billion and EBITDA falling 63 per cent.

Group CEO Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi said AD Ports strengthened core infrastructure and advanced its international strategy, generating positive free cash flow for the first time since listing.
