Hong Kong's Anglo-Eastern Ship Management has formed a strategic alliance with Orca AI to deploy its maritime operations platform across more than 750 vessels, reported Saint Petersburg's PortNews.

The deal makes Anglo-Eastern the first major ship management provider to commit to AI-assisted situational awareness at scale. The partners aim to enhance safety, reduce risk and improve data-driven fleet operations.

Anglo-Eastern will integrate Orca AI's technology into its services, including the SeaPod digital watchkeeper and FleetView monitoring tool for office-based teams.

Torbjorn Dimblad, CIO of Anglo-Eastern, said the system reduces workload and provides alerts and recommendations in critical navigation scenarios. He noted the company's diverse client base drives it to explore new technologies.

For Orca AI, the partnership is its first with a ship management company, extending its reach beyond shipowners and operators. Co-founder and CEO Yarden Gross said the alliance reflects growing market interest in AI-supported operations.

Anglo-Eastern Univan Group, headquartered in Hong Kong, provides ship management services including technical management, crew management and newbuilding supervision. It employs thousands of seafarers and shore-based staff worldwide.

Orca AI, based in London, develops AI platforms for navigational support and fleet insights using computer vision and data analytics. It collaborates with shipping organisations and research partners on autonomous vessel projects.
