RwandAir has deployed Cargo Flash's cloud-based nGen Integrated Cargo Management System to modernise its cargo operations, reports London's Air Cargo Week.

The Kigali-based airline partnered with Delhi NCR-headquartered Cargo Flash Infotech to roll out the platform across its cargo division. The system enables end-to-end automation of booking, documentation, warehouse management, tracking and delivery, aimed at improving visibility, reliability and scalability.

Cargo digitisation has become central for African carriers seeking competitiveness. IATA data show Africa accounts for less than two per cent of global air cargo volumes, but demand is rising faster than the global average, driven by perishables, pharmaceuticals and e-commerce.

Cargo Flash's nGen ICMS provides real-time shipment visibility and centralised data access. RwandAir expects the system to support agile decision-making and better coordination across stations, partners and customers as it expands its regional and intercontinental cargo footprint.

Neha Kumari, Vice President at Cargo Flash, said the partnership reflects a shared focus on modernising air cargo operations. Gakwaya Bosco, RwandAir's Director Cargo Services, described the system as a strategic step to improve efficiency and service standards.

Chief executive Yvonne Makolo said digital integration will enhance data-driven decision-making and allow the airline to scale cargo services more effectively. The deployment underscores Kigali's ambition to become a regional air logistics hub and reflects a wider trend of emerging-market carriers investing in digital cargo platforms.
