Apple captured one in four smartphone sales in China in October, with iPhone sales rising 37 per cent year-on-year on strong demand for the iPhone 17 series, reports Reuters. It was the company's highest market share since 2022.

Research firm Counterpoint said China's overall smartphone sell-through grew 8 per cent in October, driven by Apple and domestic manufacturers.

All three iPhone 17 models recorded mid-to-high double-digit growth, led by the base variant, according to Counterpoint.

New iPhone models made up more than 80 per cent of Apple's unit sales. Counterpoint senior analyst Ivan Lam said growth is likely to be amplified as rising average selling prices boost revenue.
