The United States has granted a one-year extension of tariff exclusions for some Chinese industrial and medical imports, including equipment used in solar-energy production, as part of a trade truce agreed earlier this month, reports Reuters.

The tariffs, known as "Section 301," were imposed by President Donald Trump in his first term over Beijing's intellectual property practices. The exclusions had been renewed incrementally for more than a year and were set to expire on Noveber 29.

The Office of the US Trade Representative said the extension follows the trade and economic deal announced by the White House on November 1 between US President Trump and President Xi Jinping.

The decision covers 14 product categories linked to solar manufacturing equipment and 164 categories of industrial and medical goods, including electric motors, blood pressure monitoring devices, pump components, auto air compressors and printed circuit boards.
