Cosco unit Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) said it had received the Hong Kong Sustainability Award in the large organisation category at the Hong Kong Management Association's 65th anniversary dinner on November 17.

The award, organised by the Hong Kong Management Association, recognises businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability while maintaining strong organisational performance. OOCL said the accolade highlights its ongoing focus on sustainable development.

OOCL said sustainable development remains a strategic driver of its business and that it is committed to reducing its carbon footprint, strengthening corporate social responsibility and promoting balanced growth of its fleet.

The company said it will continue to pursue energy conservation, emission reduction and green energy initiatives, and to explore the application of other green technologies to support a green shipping future.

OOCL added it will uphold corporate social responsibility and reinforce its sustainable development foundation as it seeks to align operations with evolving environmental expectations and industry best practice.
