The Trump administration announced new trade frameworks with Argentina, Ecuador, El Salvador and Guatemala to ease tariffs and expand US export access, reports New York's FreightWaves.
Officials said the agreements are part of efforts to lower consumer prices and strengthen supply chains across the Western Hemisphere. The deals are expected to streamline market access for US exporters.
Argentina's beef will be exempted from the current 10 per cent duty, while Ecuador will remove agricultural tariffs on US goods. Guatemala said 70 per cent of its exports to the US will face zero tariffs under the framework.
The agreements follow President Trump's "reciprocal tariff" strategy and are due to be finalised within two weeks. The US will also extend Most Favored Nation tariff treatment to select goods and lift some reciprocal tariffs on textiles from Guatemala and El Salvador.
