Russia has intensified its drone attacks on Ukraine's logistics infrastructure, targeting ports, railway lines and energy facilities in overnight strikes, Ukrainian officials said.

The damage has disrupted transport and power supplies, reported Fort Lauderdale's Maritime Executive.

Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba said port workers were forced into shelters as drones and ballistic missiles hit key logistics hubs. Fires and infrastructure damage were reported, though no injuries occurred.

Railway lines across the country were damaged, halting passenger and cargo movement. Mr Kuleba said repair crews were repeatedly interrupted by renewed drone attacks. Replacement diesel locomotives have been deployed to restore limited service.

"Russia is purposefully hitting our transport arteries - because it connects the country, supports the economy, and ensures life," he said.

A railway board member said Russia is targeting both primary and backup routes, aiming to sever links to the front lines and ports. Energy infrastructure was also hit, leaving over 2,700 customers without electricity. The damage was described as "very large scale."

The attacks come amid a downturn in Ukraine's agricultural exports for the 2025-2026 season. Wheat exports are down 21 per cent year-on-year, with similar declines in barley, rye, corn and flour.

Despite the setbacks, Mr Kuleba noted Ukraine exported 90 million tons of grain to 55 countries over the past two years. Since establishing its sea corridor in 2023, over 150 million tons of cargo and 6,000 ships have passed through.

Mr Kuleba said additional shelters are being built to protect port workers and that repairs to transport interchanges could boost throughput capacity by 20 per cent.
