UPS has expanded its intra-Asia air network with new flights, faster delivery times and increased cargo capacity to support businesses across Asia Pacific, reports Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.
The company introduced five weekly Shenzhen-Sydney flights, offering more than four times additional capacity and cutting delivery times to Australia from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam by one day.
UPS said the upgrades will give Australian firms quicker access to key goods such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and specialised machinery components. Exports to Asia and imports from Europe will also arrive earlier.
On the Hanoi-Shenzhen route, UPS deployed larger Boeing 747 freighters, doubling weekly cargo capacity to 570 tonnes. Customers in Vietnam now benefit from next-business-day deliveries to China and Hong Kong.
Wilfredo Ramos, president of UPS Asia Pacific, said intra-Asia trade remains resilient and the network enhancements will help customers strengthen supply chains through improved flexibility and regional connectivity.
These developments follow UPS investments in Malaysia and Japan, where new facilities and expanded services have been launched to improve cross-border logistics. The company said it remains committed to building a smart global network.
