Chinese retail e-commerce giant Alibaba has launched its most powerful artificial intelligence language model to date, the Qwen3-Max, reinforcing its commitment to AI as a central business strategy, reports Reuters.

The Qwen3-Max model contains over one trillion parameters and excels in code generation and autonomous agent capabilities, according to Zhou Jingren, chief technology officer at Alibaba Cloud. He spoke at the company's annual conference.

Autonomous agent capabilities allow the system to operate with minimal human input, making decisions and executing tasks independently based on user-defined goals.

Alibaba said the model outperformed competitors such as Anthropic's Claude and DeepSeek-V3.1 in selected benchmarks, including Tau2-Bench.
