Maastricht Aachen Airport has added two new weekly cargo flights following a partnership with Colombian airline Avianca Cargo, enhancing its international connectivity and cargo volumes, reports Singapore's Payload Asia.

Starting in October 2025, has operates Airbus A330 freighters between Maastricht, Quito, Miami and Zaragoza. Each aircraft has a payload capacity of 61 tonnes.

The new routes will support growing trade flows, with flowers imported from South America and clothing exported to Europe for a major fashion retailer.

MST recorded a 25 per cent increase in cargo volumes in the first eight months of 2025, driven by expanded operations from Turkish Cargo, Emirates SkyCargo, My Freighter and Ethiopian Cargo.

Dean Boljuncic, head of commercial development at MST, said Avianca�� arrival further strengthens the airport�� role as a strategic hub with reliable handling services.

Avianca's Maria Ximena Marin Morales said the airline looks forward to growing its presence at Maastricht, which offers key access to European markets.
