The UAE's logistics sector is accelerating growth at the three-year mark of Europa Air & Sea's Dubai operations, offering lessons and opportunities for Philippine maritime and freight players, reported Manila's GMA News.
Europa Air & Sea, part of UK-headquartered Europa Worldwide Group, has expanded its Dubai team fivefold since launching in 2022. The office now plays a central role in connecting trade lanes between the UK, India, China and the UAE.
Director Angus Hind said Dubai's innovation-driven logistics environment is attracting investment across sectors, including renewable energy and luxury goods. He noted rising trade volumes between the UK and UAE are fuelling demand for integrated freight services.
Europa operates twice-weekly airfreight consolidations between the UK and Dubai, with additional services from Milan, Frankfurt and Amsterdam, and weekly LCL sea freight. These offerings have helped UAE customers overcome supply chain challenges.
General Manager Nathan Lynn said Europa's end-to-end ownership and local expertise have improved transit times and efficiency. The Dubai team has handled urgent shipments, including chartering an Antonov AN-124 during a major UAE storm.
Mr Lynn said the team has grown from three to 17 members, with strong customs and business development capabilities. The company continues to expand its footprint across the UAE, supporting retailers and manufacturers with time-sensitive cargo needs.
