A Pakistani liquefied petroleum gas tanker was struck by an Israeli drone and later seized by Houthi forces while docked at Ras Issa port in Yemen reports the Times of India.
The vessel had 27 crewmen, including 24 Pakistanis, two Sri Lankans and one Nepali. Following the drone strike, an LPG tank caught fire, but the crew managed to extinguish the flames.
Shortly after the fire was contained, Houthi boats intercepted the tanker and held the crew hostage aboard the vessel, according to Naqvi's statement posted on X.
The minister confirmed that the tanker and its crew have since been released and are no longer in Yemeni waters.
Israel has conducted multiple strikes against Houthi targets since the Gaza conflict began. The Iran-backed group has launched missiles and drones at Israel.
