A tanker carrying liquefied natural gas from Russia's sanctioned Arctic LNG 2 project has berthed at China's Beihai terminal, marking the seventh such delivery despite ongoing sanctions, Reuters reports.

The Russian-flagged 79,885-dwt Arctic Vostok tanker collected LNG from a Kamchatka storage site on August 30 and loaded cargo on September 6, according to ship-tracking data from Kpler and LSEG. The Kamchatka facility has only received shipments from Arctic LNG 2.

Arctic LNG 2 is 60 per cent owned by Russia's Novatek and has continued exports since last year, with deliveries to two Russian storage sites and China's Beihai terminal.

Equasis lists the tanker's manager as SMP Techmanagement and its owner as Lule One Services. Reuters could not locate contact details for either party. PipeChina, which operates the Beihai terminal, did not respond to requests for comment.

Two other cargoes from Arctic LNG 2 are currently en route via the Northern Sea Route aboard the Cypriot-flagged 128,806-gross ton Christophe De Margerie and the Russian flagged 88,798-dwt Voskhod LNG tankers.

Another sanctioned vessel, La Perouse, loaded 150,000 cubic metres of LNG and is now heading toward the Bay of Bengal after passing Europe, Africa and the Indian Ocean.

The Arctic Metagaz tanker, also sanctioned and carrying Arctic LNG 2 cargo, is near Beihai. It picked up LNG from a floating storage facility in Murmansk on July 17. That facility has only handled Arctic LNG 2 shipments.
