GLOBAL air cargo demand rose eight per cent in the third week of January, driven by pre-Lunar New Year shipments, reports London's Air Cargo News.

Asia Pacific volumes climbed five per cent week-on-week, surpassing 2024 levels by the same margin.

Despite rising demand, average global rates held steady at $2.43/kg, about seven per cent higher than a year ago.

The early holiday curtailed the typical post-Christmas slowdown.
