AP Moller Capital and VinaCapital have announced a strategic investment in ALS Cargo Terminal at Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport, marking a major boost to Vietnam's air cargo infrastructure, reported Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.
The partnership signals AP Moller Capital's entry into Vietnam's transport sector and forms part of a broader logistics strategy in the region. The investment is being made through its Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II.
ALS Cargo Terminal currently handles up to 250,000 tonnes of freight annually and serves major carriers including Korean Air, Emirates and Cathay Pacific. The company plans to expand capacity to meet rising demand.
VinaCapital, one of Vietnam's largest investment managers, is making its first logistics platform investment through this deal. The firm brings over 20 years of experience and a team of more than 200 professionals.
Jens Thomassen, Partner at AP Moller Capital, said the investment would unlock ALS's potential through automation, process optimisation and sustainability. ALS founder Phung Tien Toan welcomed the move as a long-term boost.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2025.
