Rosatom eyes China bond market for debt sale

Russian nuclear monopoly Rosatom plans to raise funds through China's domestic bond market, signalling deepening financial ties between Moscow and Beijing, reported London's Financial Times.
A Rosatom representative confirmed the move after reports that China is preparing to reopen its bond market to Russian energy firms. The company did not disclose the timing or target amount of the renminbi-denominated "panda bond" sale.
Rosatom, which builds nuclear power plants and exports enriched uranium, would be the first Russian firm to access China's onshore public bond market since aluminium producer Rusal in 2017.
The planned issuance could support Rosatom's international expansion and reflects Russia's growing reliance on Chinese capital amid Western sanctions.
