SWISSPORT has launched a new air cargo ground handling partnership with Dominican Republic-headquartered SKYhigh Airlines at Miami International Airport.
The Zurich-headquartered handler announced the partnership in a LinkedIn post on January 3, reports London's Air Cargo News.
Swissport said: "We're starting 2025 with exciting news: the launch of our partnership with SKYhigh Airlines at Miami International Airport.
"With just 24 hours' notice, our incredible team pulled off a successful startup during the busiest time of the year, moving 37 tonnes of cargo on our very first day."
Swissport stated that SKYhigh Airlines now operates 20 freighters a week. Air Cargo News has requested clarification from the handler regarding how many of these aircraft call at Miami, and in turn how many of these aircraft the handler will service.
According to fleet tracking website Planespotters, SKYhigh Airlines has a total fleet of nine aircraft that includes one Boeing 737-300 freighter with another due for delivery, plus a Boeing 737-400F.
SKYhigh Airlines stated on its LinkedIn page: "We offer non-stop services to our destinations Aruba, Curacao, Tortola, Antigua, St. Kitts, Anguilla, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Bonaire, Venezuela, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Cuba and Miami from Santo Domingo."
