THRICE weekly air cargo services have commenced between Wuhan in China's Hubei province and Chicago. The route is operated by Shanghai-based logistics firm Apex Logistics.
The service's first flight was operated by a Boeing 747 freighter that landed at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport carrying 105 tonnes of cherries and salmon from Chile. A report by Xinhua said the service opens up Wuhan's first intercontinental air cargo route.
According to Wuhan airport officials, cargo services between the city and Luxembourg will commence on December 20.
With two intercontinental airlines operating at the airport, the gateway's annual international cargo handling capacity is expected to quadruple.
