RETAILERS can ship 20-kilogramme parcels and enjoy a late cut-off times of noon for same day delivery within Greater Bangkok, the German express delivery giant announced.
Consumers can enjoy real-time tracking, reschedule deliveries and rate their delivery experience through DHL's digital platform, said the company statement.
Designed for cities and metro this Parcel Metro service complements DHL's drive to improve last-mile deliveries in urban environments.
"Megacities seeing rapid urbanisation and strong growth in e-commerce. The resulting surge in parcel deliveries and the growing urban consumer's demands for same-day and instant gratification calls for innovative solutions," said DHL eCommerce chief Charles Brewer.
Real-time tracking, agile rescheduling of deliveries and instant rating of the delivery experience will also be possible for the consumer, said DHL.
"The digital platform, which can be fully customised with the retailer's brand, uses a dynamic dispatching and routing engine to improve cost and operational efficiency, and supports a range of delivery modes - including motorcycles, bicycles, and foot couriers, alongside more conventional vans and cars - for maximum speed and agility in complex and often congested urban environments," it said.
