Asia-Europe off 0.5pc to US$875/TEU, USWC up 29pc to $2,755/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday decreased 0.5 per cent to US$875 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates increased 2.5 per cent for Mediterranean ports, to $954 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast rose 29 per cent to $2,755 per FEU while China-US east coast increased 19 per cent to $3,255 per FEU.
