U.S. Customs and Border Protection has extended the comment period until April 11 to receive industry recommendations on how best to steer its regulatory and operational oversight of cross-border trade during the century.
The agency has called this initiative the “21st Century Customs Framework,” which considers emerging roles in the global supply chain, intelligent enforcement, cutting-edge technology, data access and sharing, 21st century processes and self-funded customs infrastructure.
CBP held a public meeting on the framework in Washington, D.C., on March 1.
